Recommended One-Book Medieval Everyday Life (NNWM Forever!)
"illustrated with 15 chromolithographic prints by F. Kellerhoven and upwards of 400 engravings on wood."
Classic *French* Victorian concepts of the period, rather different than British books, with details you won't find elsewhere. Covers all classes traceable, not just the nobility, and is heavy in the early periods, often sloughed as Anglo-Saxon barbarianism by Anglo-centric books that start the Middle Ages in 1066 instead of 300 CE.
